Microsoft eyes, massive launch sales, of "Halo 3"

Are you waiting for the release of 'Halo 3', I know I am, Microsoft believe this too, with a release of a news story indicating they expect record sales for the new game even to exceed Halo 2 before lunch on release day. This then begs the question are they going to get their act together and have enough copies to satisfy demand, or will it be as usual half the people go away a disappointment and under breath curses and swear never to buy anything of Microsoft again or at least until the shipment arrives.

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research expects the launch of its upcoming "Halo 3" video game to surpass that of "Halo 2", which pulled down $125 million in sales in its first 24 hours, an executive said on Friday.

"I definitely believe that 'Halo 3' is going to be bigger than "Halo 2". Retailers know what 'Halo 2' did and they are not going to want to be caught out of stock," Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Game Studios, told Reuters.
