If you’re looking for an on-the-cheap standing desk but you’d like to use solid wood instead of particle board/MDF, this IKEA-based hack uses solid wood counter tops and still keeps it budget-friendly.
Similar to a previously featured IKEA standing desk, this model–courtesy of Brad at IKEAHacker–uses the CAPITA angled brackets. It varies by ditching the MDF boards and storage cubies in place of solid wood LAGAN countertops. To build Brad’s standing desk you’ll need little more than a drill and saw (although if you want to recreate the comfort groove he cut out of the front of the desk you’ll need access to a jigsaw). His total cost was $168.99; hit up the link below for a full run down of his build. For more standing desk ideas, check out our guide to buying or building the perfect standing desk.
