Just months after announcing plans to halt sales of its webOS-based smart phones and tablets and leaving the fate of the technically excellent but poorly-selling mobile platform up in the air, HP has rendered a verdict. The computing giant will release webOS to the open source community, giving it a second chance with technology enthusiasts.
