Authors: Robert Boland Posted on Windows 7 News & Tips Normally when you want to switch users in Windows 7, you have to go to the start menu, then go to the shut down options and select switch users. That’s a 3 click process for something that should be very simple and quick to do. But today, I’ve stumbled across a little tip courtesy of helpdeskgeek which shows you how to make a desktop shortcut so you can switch user with one click. All we need to do is create a desktop shortcut that points to c:\windows\system32\tsdiscon.exe 1.Just right click on your desktop and select new shortcut. In the window that pops up enter c:\windows\system32\tsdiscon.exe (please note that there has been some reports from people that this link doesn’t appear to exist for all users) and then add a name to the shortcut (like “Switch User”) 2. Now that you’ve made your shortcut, it should work as it is. But you might like to add a better icon to it. To do this, right click on it then go to properties.
(again can I just point out that some users don’t appear to be have a file in c:\windows\system32\tsdiscon.exe for some reason unknown to me, apologies if you don’t) How To Switch Users With 1 Click is a post from Windows 7 News & Tips - Latest Microsoft Windows 7 News, Tips, Themes, Wallpapers & Guides.
